Over 10,000 people received free retinal screening

Starting in 2024, Lifeline Express has been offering free retinal screening services across Hong Kong. To date, 72 screening sessions have been held and helping 10,651 people receive fundus imaging. AI is used to provide a preliminary review of their retinal health. This helps identify people who may have diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, or optic nerve problems.

Through early detection, people can seek medical advice and further examinations sooner. This supports better eye health management and helps prevent vision loss from going unnoticed.

Medical team extend services to more impoverished areas

In 2025, the two Lifeline Express hospital eye-trains and 9 medical teams restored sight to 8,098 underprivileged cataract patients across 15 regions in nine provinces. The medical teams reached deeply impoverished areas to provide care to patients in ethnic minority regions.
